Orange Geo Surprise

These kittens are half Angora, half Siamese. They are vocal little guys, and make the oddest noises I’ve ever heard! We let them loose in this orange geo Cat Ball, and things got crazy really quickly!

Zoe and the Cat Ball

Sweet Zoe lives in a motor home and gets to do some traveling! The only problem is, sometimes her hoomans taker her to a hot place and then they run the air conditioner. Zoe doesn’t like that cold air blasting down on her! After you see her photos you will be able to imagine what a grumpy face she would get when she felt that cold air! Her nice people bought her a Cat Ball so everyone could live comfortably.

In this series of photos, Zoe demonstrates the entire Cat Ball! She shows you the big opening, the little opening and how she can get inside and even play in her new Cat Ball! Zoe, you are a cute kitty!

I met Zoe’s “mom” though Etsy, where we both have a store. Zoe’s human is having fun making cat toys, and I bought some really swell kicker toys from her. The kickers are made of rabbit fur, reclaimed from old coats, and have a hidden pocket so you can add catnip. My cats LOVE these toys! When I get them out, the fur goes flying! Twix and Pacer go bananas kicking and biting these things! You can see them here in her Etsy shop, KittyofMine.

More New Fabrics!

More new fabrics!

These fabrics can be used for the Cat Ball or the Cat Canoe. These fabrics are so new that I haven’t even made any cuts yet, so I haven’t created sample product for you to see. I’m really excited because these fabrics put me in a position to do larger production runs, and to create matching Cat Ball and Cat Canoe sets if anyone wants them.

These fabrics will be available through my Etsy and online shopping cart stores, I just haven’t listed them yet. If you love them and need a new awesome hand made cat bed right now, just send me a note!

Our Favorite Cat Toys

Da Bird - Made by Go Cat, Da Bird is a classic interactive cat toy.

The feathers are arranged so that when the wand is pulled though the air, the toy spins, creating a bird like movement that immediately gets the cat’s attention! When the cat behavior experts like Pan Johnson-Bennett talk about engaging your cat with interactive play to build a trusting relationship, they are going to get Da Bird out for a demonstration!

Recycled fur kicker - This is a handmade toy, constructed from furs taken from vintage coats.

They fought over the toy, so I immediately ordered another one.

This toy has a hook and loop opening so you can add more catnip. My cats took to the toy immediately, biting, tossing and kicking it. The fur seriously was flying as they bit and kicked at it! I was really happy with this purchase! If your cats like bunny kicking, I recommend buying her longer, larger version of the toy.

ModKicker – Handmade by Moderncat, this is a cute variation of the kicker toy.

The designer uses cute, high quality fabrics and stuffs the toys with fresh catnip, which she is buying in huge wholesale quantity! The toy is durable and made extra long so the cats can get great kicking action!  Her blog is a must for cat lovers world wide!

We also have the katarantula cat toy by Neko flies.

This is a spider with little wiggly rubber legs. The legs have a great moving action, and the cats really like biting the body. This wonderful toy is totally interactive, and is a great way to spend time with your cat. This toy is also surprisingly durable and can take a lot of abuse. We’ve played hard with it and it shows no signs of breaking. I can’t wait to try their other toys!

I used to enjoy the laser pointer, but I now agree with the cat behavior experts that is a frusturating toy for cats. Part of the feline need is to actually come into contact with their prey, biting, kicking and tossing the prey. Your cat looses this physical satisfaction when they chase the red dot.

Four Cats and Dog

Four cats and a dog. Seriously!

This household had done a great job of adapting to their feline needs. There is tall, solid cat tree in every large window. The pool table has been converted into the Feline Feeding Location (remember the dog?). A closet has been converted into a very tidy sand box and pet supply storage room. All of the carpet has been replaced with hardwood, a compromise because one of the cats has a peeing problem.

These cats were awesome!

They have a Jumbo Cat Ball, and I went over to visit them so I could see how they use it. I had already heard some really funny reports:

So the heat just came on, and Flanders and Eisen dashed across the room and basically leaped into their cat ball. Now I finally understand why it keeps ending up in this particular spot no matter where I move it!

They always move the Cat Ball to this location!

See how the Cat Ball is perfectly lined up with the opening right on top of the heat vent? When the furnace kicks on, hot air will blow right into the Cat Ball! It keeps getting better, because this spot also gets sunlight. What clever kitties!

These kitties also drag their toys into the Cat Ball. It sounds like there are usually a few plush toys in there with them.

They take toys into the Cat Ball.

Look how they smashed their Cat Ball! Now three cats can enjoy a cuddle in the sunlight while also getting the hot furnace air blown over their fur. Household tip: I learned that the plastic device placed over the heat vent not only helps to direct heat, it also helps to prevent the naughty cat from peeing into the heat vent. Seriously, the last thing you want is cat pee inside your furnace ductwork.I really enjoyed all of these photos! Thanks for sending them!

Feline Tardis Contraption

We all know that cats are great explorers, perhaps the best, so why wouldn’t they want to explore on an multidimensional basis, jumping through space and time at their whim?

We’ve found the local cats have enjoyed using this contraption as a place to hang out, a napping spot and a rollicking play space. They love to poke their paws through the tiny opening in the top!

The Feline Tardis Contraption possesses the following attributes:

  • Applique windows
  • Fully lined in black
  • Removable quilted floor mat makes cleaning less confusing
  • Seams finished with hand cut bias tape.
  • Contained, one-piece unit with a lightly batted and quilted floor.
  • Ability to stand upright
  • Ability to be squished.
  • Ability to return to original shape after suffering previous abuses
