Purple Batik Cat Ball

Ah, I sure do love this fabric! What a  bright and happy batik! Looks great with orange Pacer fur, too!

Illusion Cat Ball

This fabric has such an odd look, like an optical illusion!

Of course, the cats do not care. They just want that string…..

Customer Photos from Etsy

I learned that people aren’t that great about leaving feedback for sellers on eBay or Etsy. I think we are just busy and we forget to do it. Well, it is a really different story when our cats are involved! My Cat Ball customers are really good about remembering to leave me feedback! Not only do they leave me feedback, they also often take the time and effort to send me letters, thank you notes and photos! Here are some of the fun photos that my Etsy customers have shared with me.

The Cat Ball on Etsy

My Etsy feedback.

Nyan Cat Ball

I love the Nyan Cat

Inspired by the cutest pop tart pet on teh interwebs, I made a Nyan Cat Ball!

The Nyan Cat Ball is all rainbow on the outside and pop tart on the inside. The fabrics are 100% cotton and the attitude is 100% silly!

Here are some behind the scenes photos of the Nyan Cat Ball.

Unfortunately I’ve sold out of this fabric. I hope to find more of it because it was popular!

How To Photograph Cats #4

I found a great tool during this session. It was a weird white string with a nice bounce to it, so it had a neat movement that Twix enjoyed, and the prop looked good from a styling point of view. Now if I could just get better at lighting….

Average Joe Cat Show

Not everyone has a purebred ball of fluff, or some sleek and lanky cat with Asian heritage. Some of us have “average joe” domestic house cats and we really love them! The Average Joe Cat show is for this feline demographic.

Sponsored by Purrfect Pals, the Average Joe Cat Show is held in Shoreline, WA. There is a photo contest that you can enter right now (be ready to submit a high res photo), and you can also enter your cat in person to compete in a whole bunch of funny categories! These categories include stuff like:

  • Biggest Feet
  • Longest Whiskers
  • Best Tuxedo Cat
  • Best pair of Cats
  • Best Senior Cat
  • Most Obnoxious

I’ve got to admit that I’m thinking about entering both of my ginger tabbies in the best tail contest.

The Cat Ball will be available at a booth during the Average Joe Cat show, and I will be offering special show pricing. This slide show shows some of the fabrics I’ll be bringing.

Dog Meets Cat Ball

I’ve been asked if dogs will use a Cat Ball. I’ve even been asked about hamsters, bunnies and ferrets. Well, they probably will. The bunnies might try to eat it, but all of these animals will probably give it a try. I just wasn’t expecting this:

I’ve included the kitten photo because this Cat Ball actually belongs to the kitten. Matilda the dog is just borrowing it for a nap!

How To Photograph Cats #3

Image

I was trying to photograph this ribbon in a creative and artistic way.

And then Twix showed up.

So, how do you photograph cats?

Well, you start by trying to photograph something else. Probably something that you don’t want them to mess with. You’ve got to be like the house guest who doesn’t care for cats, and exhibit body language that says, “Ick! Stay away from me!” And then they will come. They will arrive and they will be ready to rock and roll.

So, here are the results of the photography session:
