How To Photograph Cats #4

Look. It isn’t easy to do.

They know that you’re up to something, so they either try to sniff the camera lens, or they walk away, so all you get is a close up of cat nose, or a long shot of cat bee-hind.

In this photo shoot, I’m using a radio control device so I can wrangle the cat into position and then take the photo, or at least that was the idea. I was having a hard time making the radio thing work though, and the end result is really hilarious serious of photos. Enjoy me looking like a complete dork in this set.

Thanks to Pacer Stacktrain for taking time out of his busy birdwatching schedule to help me with this photo shoot!

My Cat Ball product is available in my Etsy Store, or directly from my shopping cart.

Orange Geo Surprise

These kittens are half Angora, half Siamese. They are vocal little guys, and make the oddest noises I’ve ever heard! We let them loose in this orange geo Cat Ball, and things got crazy really quickly!

Today lets us enjoy some fine, fine goofball photos!

Inky’s Watermelon

Not long ago, we participated in Seattle’s Average Joe Cat Show, which is a fun cat show for the common cat. We offered a Cat Ball as a door prize, and this was won by the Cat Clinic of NE Seattle. They were really excited because they have a few kitties who live at the clinic and they knew the cats might like the Cat Ball. So far the only cat who has been seen inside the Cat Ball is Inky. Doesn’t she look like a big black seed inside a watermelon?

The Cat Clinic of NE Seattle is dedicated to cat care only, which we find ideal for our cats!

Zoe and the Cat Ball 2

Remember Zoe? She’s a cat who lives in a motor home and doesn’t like it when the air conditioner blows that horrible cold air onto her head. Here is a previous post on Zoe.

This photo of Zoe in her Cat Ball is totally hilarious!

Do you think that she snores?

Zoe and the Cat Ball

Sweet Zoe lives in a motor home and gets to do some traveling! The only problem is, sometimes her hoomans taker her to a hot place and then they run the air conditioner. Zoe doesn’t like that cold air blasting down on her! After you see her photos you will be able to imagine what a grumpy face she would get when she felt that cold air! Her nice people bought her a Cat Ball so everyone could live comfortably.

In this series of photos, Zoe demonstrates the entire Cat Ball! She shows you the big opening, the little opening and how she can get inside and even play in her new Cat Ball! Zoe, you are a cute kitty!

I met Zoe’s “mom” though Etsy, where we both have a store. Zoe’s human is having fun making cat toys, and I bought some really swell kicker toys from her. The kickers are made of rabbit fur, reclaimed from old coats, and have a hidden pocket so you can add catnip. My cats LOVE these toys! When I get them out, the fur goes flying! Twix and Pacer go bananas kicking and biting these things! You can see them here in her Etsy shop, KittyofMine.

Grey Ribbon Photoshoot

I first posted these photos in a post on how to photograph cats. Really, all you need to do is to be doing something that you don’t want them involved in. Then they show up and do something really interesting, like this:

The Cat Cave Tryout

Some cats are like little trolls. They like to hide and peek out at you, watching safely from their private caves.

This silly blue thing was an experiment in creating a kitty cave. I really enjoyed watching Twix check it out! His tail is so freakishly long that it doesn’t quite all fit inside!

I previously posted this photo shoot here, and just learned about this nice web tool for making .gifs from the Glowgirly blog. She has provided a helpful two-part tutorial on how to create these animations, and alerted me to this easy to use web tool at MakeAGif.com that creates the .gif after you upload the photos. The tool is easy to use and the end result can be downloaded or shared with your friends!

(If the .gif isn’t working, try clicking on it.)
