Cats vs. Dogs

I have been asked if dogs like the cat beds that I make, and I’ve been informed that I should make beds for dogs.

Well, Dear Reader, if I had a smelly, drooly, barking, garbage eating dog then I would most certainly let it outside to chase squirrels and make it beds to shed in. Instead I somehow ended up with these ridiculous cats:

Retro and Rocket in the Window

I’m pretty sure now that cats are more annoying than dogs. Sure, dogs might occasionally eat a sock and you might need to pay $800 for that, but dogs don’t jump on the counter, TV, refrigerator, every house plant and then my bladder/face/bladder at 3 a.m while yeowling something in Siamese dialect. I sometimes consider my decision to “Go Team Feline” and think I may have been foolish to select a species that is encouraged to poop indoors.

It turns out that Nancy has a dog and a cat, and the dog is possibly even more adorable in character than in appearance, which may seem truly impossible after you see these fun photos. BTW- the cat and dog are both shown in the same bed.

Scrapbooking Your Cat’s Napping Spots

This is a scrapbook page put together by Nikko’s human.

The story that I heard is that Nikko was rescued as a wee lad and bottle fed. Kudos to his people for taking on this huge job! I really appreciate people who adopt pets, especially black cats.

Nikko lives in Seattle and his people bought the Cat Canoe in an auction to support their local school. I love the story in the scrapbook, describing how Nikko simply knew that this new thing was for him!

Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles

The Best Friends Animal Society LA center recently had a grand opening event. This amazing organization is really active in finding great homes for pets and in supporting spay and neuter programs. Cats and dogs are designed to have incredible numbers of offspring in their lifetimes, and this is something that responsible pet owners need to control. Additionally, continually going into heat can cause health problems in our pets.

I was approached by Jackson Galaxy and Moderncat.net and asked to make some donations to Best Friends community cat room. My business is really young, less than a year old, and it isn’t easy for me to afford donations, but I love making donations to events and groups like this!

I sent a Jumbo Cat Ball, two standard Cat Balls and a Cat Canoe.I really wanted to send stuff that black cats would look great in, since black cats experience a lower adoption rate.

The feedback I got was that everyone (inkludng teh hoomans) was excited to see how fabulous the Community Cat Room looks!

If you would like to donate one of my hand made Cat Balls to the Best Friends Animal Shelter, or to any other pet shelter, please contact me! Donations like this are really rewarding, and I will also offer a discount for charity purchases.
